Children's Rights Monitoring and Implementation
Children's rights, protection and welfare situation is very critical. This situation does not take a priority in the agenda of the policy-making class. Save the Children Albania's Monitoring and Implementation of Children's Rights Programme is continually pressing for positive changes where necessary, by lobbying and influencing government policies and practices, strengthening state structures and institutions which monitor and advocate for children's rights and also empowering children to exercise their rights and influence decisions that bring about changes in their future.

Child Protection
A large number of children are affected by a wide range of violence and exploitation including domestic violence and corporal punishment. In addition, Child trafficking is still a problem of great concern in Albania.
Save the Children Albania's Child Protection Programme works with partners to promote ways that protect children from all forms of violence focusing in reducing the risk of the vulnerability to trafficking. We provide education and training for children and youth, including the most disadvantaged, so they are less likely to fall victims to traffickers. We also urge the government and support structures to put in place laws and mechanisms that protect children in this respect.

Regional Child Trafficking Response
Programme
Save the Children continues to see child trafficking as a regional priority in South East Europe (SEE). Through this programme, Save the Children aims to increase protection of the rights of trafficked children and children at risk of being trafficked from the six selected countries. These are : Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia.
